NCI Participates in the Black Sea NGO Meeting

Bucharest, Romania—The National Citizens’ Initiative (NCI) coordinator Hovsep Khurshudian attended the Black Sea NGO Forum: “Time to Meet,” which was held in the Romanian capital Bucharest from October 31 to November 2. The event brought together representatives of over one hundred NGOs from the Black Sea region’s ten countries: Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Russia, Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia.

The forum participants examined the already introduced project proposals, the avenues for their funding, the capacity of their potential, and the methods for their implementation. Work groups also were formed by way of which these proposals will be revised and, through these proposals, ways will be determined for future collaboration among the NGOs of the Black Sea region.

Hovsep Khurshudian, together with several other NGO officials from Armenia, also met with representatives of the Romanian-Armenian community and visited the Armenian Church in Bucharest.

The Black Sea NGO Forum was organized by the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF).
